New Bedford Academy

About Our School

Mr. Sauter
Principal

New Bedford Academy (NBA) is a K-8 Michigan Public School Academy in its nineteenth year of operation. For the first year classes were held in the Lambertville Fellowship Church. The second year the Academy moved into an additional church structure - and until February 2000, classes were held in two church buildings.

In February 2000, New Bedford Academy moved into a newly constructed facility at 6315 Secor Road. The site includes 25 wooded acres with wetlands for outdoor learning experiences. The site also includes a playground area adjacent to the school building. A gymnasium (with storage and meeting rooms) has been added to the original school building - and staff and students began using the gymnasium in September 2001.

New Bedford Academy is Chartered by Ferris State University - and, since its inception, the Board of Directors has contracted with Helicon Associates, Inc., to provide highly qualified staff who fulfill the educational goals of New Bedford Academy.
